Joe, all you have to do is post the picture on a photo sharing site like facebook or flickr. After that right click the posted pick to get the location of the pic file and then cut and paste it here.. I don't know if I explained that right, but it is really easy to figure out if I didn't.

Thanks for your kind words Carla, I was not worried about you thinking it but there are peons out there who desire to jump on any possible excuse.

My idea was for them to give a colored paper with a date on the dash with maybe a number instead of all of our personal information :-)

Carla...I don't blame you for not wanting to put your permit on the dashboard! The National Forest district that requires you to do so should change their policies. It would seem as though their enforcement personnel could check a list of vehicles and license plate numbers just as fast sitting in their own cars as they can by getting out to look out at individual permits.

I perhaps was not explicit enough, I am not doing unlawful behavior. Peons see you finding gold and they hope to obtain a reward from an official or someone who will notify a big mining company and they will then tie the area up with claims and thus prevent the original finder from collecting any more of what was discovered. ........... Thus it is wise to be discrete when lawfully finding gold or treasure if you desire to keep getting it.

I hear that Lobo! What really irks me is that one picker is not obligated to show his permit to another picker so they call up and tattle tale on each other when they both have permits to begin with. I would NOT show my permit to anyone other than an officer or the buyer... Too much personal information on there. I actually argue with the forest service every year over the policy of having to leave your permit face up on the dash of the car because it is just advertising your address and the fact that you are not at home....

I was on a buying trip headed for Brookings one year and it was foggy from The Dalles to Eugene with black ice north of Eugene and numerous accidents. I took a different route to the coast that day and there was ice even on the coast highway. I purchased a few hundred pounds of hogs at the Chetco Market and headed back to Idaho but did not realize that half my load had been picked while frozen, I barely broke even that trip. .... .... One thing about being down here in the warmer climes is that often the peons turn you in if they see you collecting gold or fungi, maybe they hope to garner a reward from the Federalies or a mine owner.
