August I really think you should be more careful about what you tell us, I don't know anyone that would walk away from a camp the way you described yourself doing! I don't care what Chris was doing, when you took on the roll as guide, guard, and cook, that made you responsible for the tender feet from back east. I don't understand how you could walk away and leave them hanging like that!

When I go camp to pick I always have every thing I need, I use propane stove, and light, a few flashlights, lot's of toilet paper. We alway's have talk abouts, (small hand held radio's) with lots of spare batteries. I pick with a few different groups of people sometimes, we've all been friends for years and we know our area's well. However, none of us would leave any other hanging without proper supplies! Damn it August, quit telling us this stuff!

To those that say I should take my lumps for what has been, well it was I who made the move to dump Chris and left the people at camp without a guard and they had no cooking stove and nothing eat with and Chris was staying at Howard Johnson's with the Playboy Bunny he left his wife for are should I say she found out about her man playing around out of town. I found out last fall when he had a lady with him. I do feel bad about the people that payed to play on this spring foray and if I could fond them I would do what ever I could to make it up to them without Chris ever being around. What he his done to them and all the other people that have work for him in the past is and very wrong to the people that just won't to learn about mushrooms and what is safe to eat. Most of the people that I have met are vary , vary nice people and they really don't have time to go out and pick as mush as we do. I knew what every person has said about Chris but if I took the word of all of them I would never know what the people were like that came to the foray. What would the people think if all you were out on the street trying to sale your shrooms to them, after all we were told when we were young to not eat them and that they were not good for us. I have always given others a three time shot and if you f--k me and other's around me then you would be out and down and no friend and not a friend my friends and family. All I ask of you all is, allow me to decide what is right for me and where my life is going. I know what I'am. A''

I have recently been reminded that life is to short to let the little thing's bother me anymore. At the end of the day an early in the morning, it's the man in the mirror I have to face! I have decided to try and wake up, slow down and enjoy the time's of my life, I don't need stress! As Doris Day said, What ever will be, will be!

I have decided to come out of retirement to offer my condolences to the 'Mad Morel, A man' for whom this discussion board was created & dedicated. We all make choices that may seem good or bad depending upon the aspect point from which they are viewed and reviewed. I have considered August to be a friend and have also considered Chris to be a friend. I have publicly disagreed with them both on discussion boards at times as well as privately concerning the foray processes which transpire and of which I would not get involved, but that has not stopped me from accepting them as friends... I am reminded of a Biblical passage that says to the effect, "He who is without sin, let him first cast a stone". I recently read Chris Matherly's new morel hunting book and found a few discrepancies and a bit of misinformation but I must say the the Yukon foray adventure story and photos in it by King Morel Is very nice, good job Randy.

Take your lumps like the others have August, you were and others on here were forewarned long ago about Chrissy's disrespectful behavior, Chris has already replaced you with someone else, he is clever that way, just too bad you allowed him to taint the washington cascades like you guys did. used and tossed he will be back to hunt behind your back!

As for them chanty's the one's that are grow here are doing fine and they love the heat. They just grow slow. Now for Chris,Yes he needs to still pay me off but what he is up to is this food show with this Bimbo 98 lb when wet play bunny that he left his Wife for and thanks he has money. I don't fill sorry for at all and of he thinks he is going to bring people out here to do his foray's, I well run him down so he never tries to make a trip out here again. With some help from those back east,he well learn what it is like to mass with picker's from the Northwest.........Now for him coming out here for a foray this month, now he never did. There was some one up there but was busted with 1400 lbs in Walla Walla that come from the Discover Fire.........and pick up a big fine.....Now who is this Rock Lobster and where did you come from? I do read the wall's and I also was payed well last year and on time but there is more to be said about this spring and the foray that was not said here and well not be said on this board. some people do know what happen and maybe some day if we meet I well you. I well say this I well not stop teaching people how to pick the right way and but not where most people go and well teach and work with them to find new and better picking ground's that have not been run over by those that have run most patch's to the ground. There well be a price but never to be like Chris's. I have people that well work with me to make it work and I well always keep a open mine. Carla I like to say thank you for the candy cap you sent to skip this last winter and he was very happy to get and say's thank you. There are people back that are going to take down the bum chris and I well be helping them. Kelly, sorry but the phone is down but I well be in touch with you and also Cle Elm grl and hope to get together to go picking them blue's and some yellow. Sorry there TK, but to foregive is not to foreget and like other's you talk to much and that is not what I call a firend. I well still say ha if I see you around. Looking for a really good Year this fall and full bucket's to you all.......A"

If it quacks like a duck, it's usually a duck. Matherly has a long history as a con man. No sympathy for anyone who has gotten involved w/this snake oil salesman. It was sad to watch to watch "A" defend this loser last year on this forum and to disparage those who were only trying to expose him for what he was.

Hey, A', your last post is kind of restrained, good job since you must be mad or at least disappointed. What you meant to say was that Chris Matherly didn't pay you for leading his foray? The Morel Mushroom Hunting Club doesn't pay it's bills? Shocking. He probably doesn't need you anymore since you showed him what you know. He has places to take people now. If the forays are making him money, I am sure that he will only increase the hype to recruit new paying customers and bring them to your beds. The only thing you have to do to really help yourself is show a local adventure tour operator where to go. The tour operator will only need a couple of outings with you before you become redundant. All pickers should have the benefit of your experience, A', please continue to share your real-world adventures.

Hey I want to be treated like a mushroom, please? I can get picked nice and softly, treated with high respect, placed in a bed with my friends and to know at the end of my life cycle someone has paid a high price for me and has enjoyed me in a five star restaurant or off the griddle of my picker. What more can I ask for in my life? Treated mushroom for sale!

I do have good thing's to say. But some people treat us like a mushroom, you know, keep us in the dark and feed us bullshit! I'm a very friendly person and team player until that trust is taken away. For someone to pretend their someone else...and treat us like mushrooms...sigh!

So is there anywhere in WA to still find Morels? There's a guy putting on a foray this weekend some burnsite 1 hour from Yakima and he's charhging like 150$ a day? I just made some wonderful crab stuffed morels with some drys I bought off ebay. Not bad- I bought 1/4 lb for $30... I gotta say the fresh ones are sooo much better! I can't wait til next may...I'll have to meet some of you all.
