West Coast; In the archives of this board back a couple of years there is mention of a dog being used to hunt pines. I used to train and use military attack/sniffer dogs and if they can be trained to quietly detect and notify the handler about dangerous explosives then they also could be trained to find truffles, pines, porcini or any other desired product. There are several trained truffle dogs in the NW area.

Hello again pickers. As I head to WA's east side, I am looking to buy smaller amounts of high-quality mushrooms (20-50lbs). I expect to pay fairly for quality and to compensate for the time it is taking folks to do any picking in an otherwise light season. Email me if you'd like to get in touch: CascadiaMushrooms(at)gmail.com--Thanks

went back up to howard prarrie and at 5000 asl we found 6 fresh blondes, 2 rotten blondes, about a dozen rotten blacks, at 5300-5500 asl we found a couple semi okay blacks, and 2 okay kings and a few pounds of decent coral, at around 5800 asl on a north facing slope we found 6 fresh greys, about a dozen semi okay browns and then at about 6000-6200 shawn found one fresh blonde and that was what we found, we also had snow on the ground, I heard of one report from diamond lake that said it was snowing good and that the lake was having ice formed on the edges

Hey Hangtime , ya I'm finding brains like crazy but I only use them for timing , I don't know of any market .Do you ? Them brains can be quite poisonous depending on the area from what I've read. Hey Chantrelly are you in the Hope area ? if so there must be plenty of cut blocks to visit , wish I had more time to chase them merckels but I work 5 days a week , retirement still a long way .... lol cheers. full buckets to everybody !!! I went out last week and looked at howard prarrie, in three hours of looking at a dozen patches, I found 2 false morels and nothing else, the trillium are blooming , and the grass is about 12" tall, and noyhing else to be found. I looked also in butte falls area at a few patches in the 2500-2800 asl areas and found fresh blondes and greys and just tones of morels that were rotting on the stem, it may be a bit early for the high lakes unless the season blows through, I may check again this week if i get the chance and or gas to go back up. matsiman, I am still trying to find some morels and boletes for me you and Ricky to go after, but we may have to wait for a bit to go to my keno patches, where is the campground your hosting at?

Howdy all, Schools almost out and I'm planning a "camping" trip with my daughters and dog. I was hoping folks might be able to suggest some places around Bumping Lake/Rimrock that would satisfy my girls needs(swimming, cool things to look at, easy walking)and Daddy's need(morels, spring boletes) to fill the pot. August, you out there? You hang in those areas sometimes too don't ya'? Is your little one done with school soon. Best. Daddy in Wa coffeybusiness at mac dot com
