How would you all like to now what summer well be like! what summer would that be?.Are planet is going to cool down and the Ice Age is Coming and are Planet is moving away from the Sun like it has in the past Ice Age's and the only way to stop it is to burn more fuel but there is one big Problem we are running out of fuel but then there well be Wood and Coal and for how long?. When it is all gone so well be man unless we find a way to keep Warm and Grow Food on a planet of ice. This is not a Doom's day Wish but a Doom that well happen but when that's up to us. Are Moon is moving away from Planet Earth at a rate of one to two inches a year and then in fifty million years it well fly off into space but before that ever happens are sun well burn its self out first in ten million years. hmmmmmm well man still be around? if woman can survive in the year 9999?.

MessagesHowdy, Mellow out. The spam/porn is almost non existent here. The board doesn't need editing. It needs to be a registered board. I'm working on it. I need another domain, and some scripts written. I'll be looking for help this week with the scripts. Front Page has a registered site temple, but not sure it is complete as is. Be patient. Later, Matsiman

Messagessundanzkidd; You may be interested in this post made by a jtmartyn on the now defunct Mushroom Expert discussion board. .... .... "Are there any year old burn areas, besides south lake tahoe, that might offer some good pickings? the reason I say besides South lake tahoe is this, I live there and the burn area will be under major security this spring. they are not letting anyone into the burn area. If you do wander into the area, consider wearing some kind of camoflage so it's harder to be seen by residents and law enforcement. Good luck. and I hope someone responds."
MessagesA .... porn poster is prob just a bot. programed to find boards and auto post...... They make so much $$$ its sick so to lose a few cpu's would mean nothing to these lowlifes that programe and use these bots... bout time mass ip addresses were banned , fined and blocked as this goes beyond free speech. I would guess most of these type of business's are from outside N. America so holding them to task, impossible.
MessagesLost morel, try emailing Matsiman at matsiman@matsiman.com I am sure he wouldnt mind the help, but just have to hear back from him
MessagesI do put an A" on all number #3 up here but I can't really if I was there maybe Alice has and that wabbit friend of her's. Good luck in Reno and maybe you just mite find a bolete with an arm on the side that use's nickel's. lol
Messagesspaminator --- woofer ---- yes A im still kickin it, things were slow for the last few months but on the up swing i hope, i do want to hike some of that burn in south tahoe area and see what is there, some was private and some wilderness and some part of the ski resort, web cam shows about same amount of snow we got here in the hills, but im kinda guessing the morels pop there in june, cuz of the elevation, never picked morels up high only picked them low along the rivers here... ill do a report and make a 1 day hike there and see, might do better on the truckee river that runs through downtown in reno, i seem to remember a few parks that had cotton woods and willows with sandy soils close to the casinos, but the floods they had might have wiped out the trees, just kinda thought morels would produce sooner down south than here by a month -- dont know... find out when i get there i guess, want to stop south of shasta and susanville and check for boletes also when i stretch my legs from driving all day, but every time i stop at my fav stump, nothing is growing on it --- stumps all have an A on them.... lol
MessagesSundanzkidd. How are you now a day's. Did you find what fire you would like to go work out on?. I don't think Lake Tahoe is any good but then I could be wrong and also there is a lot of private land that was burn last year. If you go don'tget shot!
Messagesthanx for the input mary on the sierras, iv no deadline or reservations and im still atleast 2 weeks before i head out, plan on spending the first night near Woofersburg ...... area lol, 7 feathers...... then to reno, takin a rv down and stayin where ever, no pressure, just fun, i usually go to tahoe every year, but never find any morels or boletes, always too many things to see and do, then run around blind in the woods there, ill do a lil hiking and takin pics like i usually do tho..... sunny today nice day, gas..... well its 335 for the cheap stuff and 355 for the hi grade dino syrp - obama came to town too, but he didnt stay long

MessagesAugust; It is almost time to go hunting fresh morels along the Boise River, perhaps next week with mountain patches still under snow for another month or two. .... The dried morels I soaked and cooked a few days ago are almost all used up, they were very good but fresh ones are better.
MessagesI would like to ask you why do you keep posting this junk?. you must have a brain of a lesser child for they have more brain's then you and would just go onto a better life then keep posting your sick junk site here. In time you well get your payback and it's coming very soon. Don't think you are getting away with it because you not and we well go on with out your smut. Thank you and just remember what I said when they come and take's your P.C. away .
Messagessundanzkidd, they are only just starting to find a few apple orchard morels around Sebastopol on the SF north coast. It's going to be a good month before you'll see morels in the Sierra especially with all the snow they've had this year. We never even went looking in the Sierra until the third week in April. I think you're going to be early. Usually May is the month to find morels in the Sierra in quantities.
MessagesCarla is your hubby finding any morels in north central cali mtns yet between sac and shasta - im doin spring break in 2 weeks in Tahoe and want to hit the burn there any reports ? ( COW ) are you on any morels yet in cali ?, , my morels here are still about 20/30 days out, tired of snow and rain seeking sun and jobs and cards that pay mo money

MessagesDear Alice, I would like for you to let the Easter Wabbit go because without him there well not be a Easter Sunday and no color ege's for me and all the other kid's to hunt for.I know your grown up's go out and act like kid's when morel's come up and you look for day's at a time when us kid's only get one day to hunt for wabbit ege's and that's ok as long as we get are day with the wabbit and his or her ege's. Alice with all the color's in your head from eating those jelly bean's I would only hope that you would be full of flower love and let my wabbit go!
MessagesBaldpineguy, If you plan on trying to grow mushroom's what type of shroom's are you going to grow?. I would say that if they are pine's good luck!. No one has at this time ever had any luck at produceing them, But they are trying to in Japan. You should be abale to find some info here on matsiman's board and where to look for other type's of shroom's.I would like to know more on what you plan on trying to grow!............A'
MessagesAugust; you've probably got so much mushroom knowledge crammed in there that we may need to tap your skull like a maple tree in spring and drain some of it into a bucket... ... hummm, maybe an ice cream bucket hanging on each side so you can keep your balance while we drain some of the excess mushroom smarts. ..... ..... I use varied colors of spray paint and make the lychee baskets camo colors...
MessagesHi. first time on the board. just looking for now. novice picker, want to learn how to grow mushrooms, and learn about how big the market for grown shrooms is. thanks for all your input.

MessagesDid I sleep are was I Dreaming I really don't remember?, by the way who am, I All remember was I was looking for Dr Hook to clear up my bucket's of dead morel fever and something was crawling all over me then there was nothing but cold hard ground all around me so I began to dig and then found myself sleeping in a bed not knowing where I was just then I could hear my bucket's cry out for me and That is all I remember but I did stay at the Hoilday Inn the night before.
MessagesWoofer,I hope who ever clear'sthe board dose not lose all of the other post that have nothing to do with mushroom's!
MessagesRainbow warrior,If most of us here on the board would try really hard we all could have a big get togather one summer week or weekend. We all could stand around the camp fire and roast tick's and mud worm's along with other thing's. We could even start are own foray like they do back east in the spring!. But we need the help from all above and below the 49th to work. I would be game for the tick's!.............Any input would be help full from both side's.
MessagesA brotherhood is a very good description of most all of the mushroomers I have had the good chance of meeting or knowing. Good chance I'll never meet any of the people I have had conversations with, but still enjoy their experiences and stories of their shroomin adventures. Can't wait till the pop!!!
MessagesIn the past, there were complaints on this site about the chatter not having to do with mushrooms. I understand that thought but on the other hand, mushroom season is not quite here now. The human animal loves not only mushrooms, but also the animals that pick them. It is a brotherhood. I appreciate the sympathy others on this site have forwarded to me as well as others. I am here for that also. Thank you for your kindness, Ol'e Uncle Don
Messages... right again you are, "super seer", I am cooking beef chow mein with morels right now ...
MessagesLoon lobo, It looking to me you just may be out hunting morel's and not gold this year's.The U.S. dollar is going to go on a upword roll and Gold; yes that yellow rock is done with it's seven year run and Oil well stop it's fast run and slowly go down to a more stable price as long as the Dollar is higher then the Euro.
MessagesZiQuinn....my condolence goes out to you. It's never easy to loose a loved one , especially one close to you. take care. And to the idiot who keeps posting smutt keep it to yourself !!! If we wanted to see porn we wouldn't be on matsiman. good day to all!
MessagesOil has drop and I believe that you must whitch as the new week coming up, Oil well drop and gas well drop as well. If'en I'am right and am not very offen the dollar well jump higher then the euro sometime next week. I myself have not jump into the ring like other's have and said we are in a recession but I well say we are in a short economic slow down and a true recession is when you have high unemployment an economic slow down and I don't see high unemploymentat this time. The market just need's to reajust and the Fed's need to jump on those that have put the horseing market in this mess and people need to stop buying large home's that cost way to much for them to oun. What more can I say, stay with in your means and watch your resources!.
MessagesAugust, you have a 24K gold hart. The value of that does not fluctuate in value as the mineral does. If something happens to me, it is because the will of cosmic laws dictate it to be so. There is no death to the soul and it's attached personality. It is just hard to remember that.
MessagesAugie; on the noon news they just showed gold at $920.68 which is about one hundred $ down from the peak this year so you would thunk that the petrol prices would drop also... lol, not very likely anytime soon.
MessagesI would like to know if there is a Dr Hook on board?.I need to see if and when I could have my morel's taken out from my bucket's.I need them to find more morel's to sale if and when the new crop show's up. the morel's in my bucket's have been there from last season and there looking really sad!. I don't blam them for looking this way but I should of donesomething with them last season like take them fish or camping. I could not find a fire to cook them and they would hide from me ever time I would look for my dryer. If Dr hook is around have him call my a nut!!!!! lol
MessagesDon, I'm sorry for your loss and I wish I could say something to help ease the pain. I'am happy to hear you are ok but if something should ever happen to you!, is there someone that could let us all know?......................Loon lobo, Sorry to say it but Gold is on it's long road to hell and Oil is droping as well and the dollar is trying for a come back.............Yes tha ass is back but it well be his last and hell may just find himself looking out from the inside of the bars very soon!. They know who he is!. The goverment is nolong going to let people like him play in are cat box. The sand's of time are coming to a stop on him.
MessagesZiQuinn; So sorry for your losses of family, I believe that you will be able to see them again.
MessagesI called woofer's cel and left a message to let him know about it, he may be in the hills hunting morels...
MessagesAugust, sorry about the lack of response on my part. I lost 2 brothers and a nephew in a 2 week period and I have been crying and absolutly sick for two weeks. My nephew was from Centralia and we all met there. He was a psycologist for the army and was councelor for returning vets with, "PTSD". Word has it they worked him to death. He was a very intelligent, well educated captain in the army. They worked him 7 days a week and like 18-20 hrs a day. He finally just shot himself instead of complaining about the hrs. CBS just did a special on how lack of sleep affects our brains. It is more critical than one might think. anyhow, I come back and find there has been a Jackass posting filth on here again. My brothers were all in therer 80's and no real suprises there.
MessagesHangtime, there are a few pics of me scattered about the site. There is one of me under the Mexico heading and then click on Loreto and I am the one posing with the sailfish I caught on a fly rod further down the page. (vertical) Also me in the about us section holding a 33 pound Atlantic salmon. Sorry about the dial up nightmare...it is supposed to be designed so it doesn't take forever to load but I do know there are times here where I am (on high speed) that things slow to a crawl when so many people are online at the same time. Hopefully it's not like that all the time....
Messagesspring-has-sprung during the night while I wuz not watchin so I must fulfill the need to hunt molly-moochers today along the river bottom...
MessagesNice looking site Mary. However on my dial up at 49 kps, it is very slow loading. The photo gallery was the worst.I finally gave up trying to get a thumnail in the gallery to enlarge. Maybie its the time of day. Is that you holding i believe is a marlin??
MessagesGreat site Mary, perhaps you could catch that mudworm and use him for bait...?
MessagesI can't find morelpassport.com can anyone help me find it?
MessagesHi guys and gals... been crazy busy getting my new website launched but it's finally gone live... if ya wanna see it, go to www.anglerspassport.com and let me know what ya think! (hope it's ok to post that...) woofer? andy? I guess you'll let me know if it's not!!! It's in the 50's here today and mostly sunny. Hearing reports now all over about morels starting to pop. Northern CA in apple orchards are starting and Oregon beauty bark morels too. Getting antsy now!!! Ciao

Messagesup here, the old man is snoring ... 00ps, was snoring ... i yam kinder awoke now ... lol
MessagesGood Morning! It is raining it's pouring... Uggg
MessagesAugust; now you make me feel bad for driving two miles to get food for the table. I shouldn't have shot that pumpkin pie because in believing I must eat everything I shoot, my blood sugar test was way too high this morning, lol. .... .... We may never fully comprehend all of God's plan. If we are unwise stewards of the land and fail to listen to the promptings inside of us we then become hardened to truth as we polute, rape and pillage this wonderful world.
MessagesA..........always enjoy reading your comments and Ideas, as well as others. Just can't wait to spend a lot more time in the hills pickin and grinnin, calling for flurries here for the next 2 days and as I look outside all I see is blue sky!!! Gunna get out and do a little fishing with my boys. have a good day everyone!
MessagesWe live in a world full of knowledge and not much wisdon and we live to believe there is a greater power going on in all are life's, But there are those that would have you to believe that there is no life after.I say to each man there is more to him that can see beyond there dream's of what could be. We are not alone on this one planet and there are other's out there and if we are alone then we are special and we need to wake up and see how special we really are. Man must have something are someone to believe in if not him self, and for Hope and are Planet and all that live's on this Big Blue Ball we call home. With out it we have nothing to look foreword to. Yes we well have hard time's and we learn how to find way's to work them out and we also have had good time's as well and there are those that would place the blam on other's when they them self's could of done something about it. We talk about how other's like the Joe's that make more then they should but we must look at what they have to go though to make there sale's and how much money of there's they must put out to make a dollar are two and if something should go wrong and they do some time, how much they would lose in dollar's. Yes, we are it war and it's a Holy War and it's not just an American War it a Globe War.You could say it's G.Bush's War but it was not him that sent the plane's in to the tower's But there are those that would take what man has in his heart for the people of this planet we call home. I really don't know what you all fill is wrong with the economy but what I see is we use to much Oil and we depend on those counter's that would take us down because of what we believe in and what is that?. Well you really need to look back 40+ years and then ask yourself what have you done to make the earth turn on us!?. I'am just a simple person and try to get along with all around me,but sometime's it hard to understand why other's place there blam on those that try to help other's that really need the help to change there home land to live and have there kid's go to school's to learn and to have a life of freedom like we live. Is that to hard to give to other's. For they keep comeing to this counter to live a better life like you and I.
Messages"August One"; I bow to your great wisdom and knowledge... There are so many schools of thought of how, why etc etc that it can leave "one agast" at least I feel that way. Some believe that mankind decended from fish crawling out onto land and that cave men domesticated our current dogs from wolves that came from those same fishes.-.. or is it -..- lol .... .... Others believe that God created mankind just the way he is and wildlife, domestic dogs, live stock etc pretty much as they are with varying breeding done to change some things according to taste and or cultural desires. .... .... No matter which way a person believes it happened or how they think that things ought to be done, when we each die then someone else will come along and try to change it all according to their desires. .... .... I personally feel that the important thing is to live my own life according to the dictates of my own conscience and do good to all, forgive everyone who may trespass against me and learn compassion and charity towards all of Gods creations wheather it be animal or something rooted in the soils etc. .... .... may we all be blessed with full buckets and kindness overflowing...
MessagesI'am Sorry to say that the hybrid's that you say they are are not hyride's at all but wild wolf's from up north that were taken to replant so that the ecosystem could return to the wild. But what man has done wrong in the past is now giving back to right his wrong. Yes they do kill cow's and pet's and still we most alow them to live as well, for they are part of this big blue planet so try to remember this. They must have a home as well as you and only we as man must try to help put this planet back the best way we can. I have never seen a wild wolf and it's my goal to see and live with all that is wild and not let my kid's and grandkid's and grant grandkid's live only to read about what my never be seen again. Call me what you well but I love all that is wild and tame and you as well should also do the same. We all have talk about what the Forest Service has do to are forest and we see how man has pussed back all that live's in the forest and now it's all up to us to take part in educateing those on what is happening to are ecosystem and wildlife. Too many law's and too many loop hole's has put use here and now what are you willing to give up to help save what we take for granted?............All Life has a Right to Live
MessagesITK...I did look up "hyperbole". Your original post gave me the impression that you really meant what you said about shooting every marmot you saw. I'm sorry that I didn't realize what you said was only in jest. Unfortunately, there are still misguided people out there that do shoot birds and animals for all the wrong reasons. I'm glad you're not one of them!
MessagesWell I am back from wasting a bit of expensive petrol and boy the board warmed up while I was gone, shot me a pumpkin pie at the market and am doing my best to eat it all before dinner... yum. .... .... mushroom mary; it's snowing up in the high country and we had a bit of rain down here. .... .... rainbow warrior; at Hope Arizona they have signs at each end of the tiny town that says. "You Are Now Beyond Hope". .... .... As for cougars they do kill plenty of game but with the encrochment of civilization they do have encounters of the dangerous kind concerning pets and people, there have been posts in the past here where pickers were stalked by the big cats way out in the boonies, the same things happen with bears and wolves. .... .... Yes I believe in all nature being allowed to forage and reproduce if it is natural to the area. The most dangerous in my opinion is the unlawfully established wolf-dogs. From what I have read of the law, a variety or species of wild animal that was not native to an area cannot be moved to that particular area by anyone. If you think that the ticks are a danger we now have hundreds more wolf hybrids killing the game than was planned for when the government dumped them on us. They are not afraid of humans like a true wolf is and they are killing livestock and pets, it is only time before they get a few hikers, joggers etc. Last September I went to my favorite burn site morel patch of the year and found a hunter shaking in his boots because twelve of these hybrids came after him, I had researched morels in this particular packs domain off and on all summer long but this hunter was competing for their food and perhaps they took issue with his presence. .... .... I have finished the whole pie now so it is time to fix something more nourishing... hummm, whistle pig, anyone ???
MessagesA........ I thought the cockroaches were buying our pines last year!!lol. man has been killing each other ever since the start, maybe one day thats all that will be left to eat. ITK.. assume what u like, ( a little about myself) I don't beleive in god, heaven or hell, ghosts, spirits, big foot or honest politicians. I do beleive in pro choice, free speach, treat everone as you would like them to treat you, and the right to bear arms.
MessagesIf you watch tv there was a show called, The Day After Man, and what this world could be like after man was gone. A Very Good Show that make's you really Think about are Planet and then some.
MessagesOk, then let us kill each other and use the meat to BBQ each other would that help?some thing's should be left alone but then there are time's that man need's to stop looking for way's to keep man alive from disease so ifwe eat each other then are disease would kill us off then cockrochs can run the world and pick all the mushrooms it can eat lol...............Thank's mattie for your in put and I got your e-mail.
MessagesITK...yes I agree our days are numbered! when an animal over grazes it's territory they die off, we have over populated this globe and are quickly over grazing it. our gov. do play GOD ,deciding how many deer, bear ,fish ect,ect...shall be harvested . there will be a day when our species will be extinct and I only HOPE the next dominant species does a better job in looking after this amazing planet. thanks for listening, now I must go eat our big horn sheep roast with some of last years morels in gravey.ahhhh.
Messagesrainbow_warrior, Youre totally correct...and mother nature will surely do it some day...sooner then later i hope! We are the only species on earth that does not self regulate its population. We have adopted a paradigm that we can play gawd and everyone can live to be one hundred years old, with out any regards for our impact on the planet. our current numbers are not sustainable....given your name...im making an assumption here, but you are probably the choir.... JDS i dont think you looked up that word I gave you earlier..it means " in jest" or not to be takein literally...
Messagesyes I do agree. man has killed indiscriminatly anything on this planet from our beginning. our forefathers would have made good with most parts of a kill. but for many years ( 1700's on) most killings were a sensless sport. For me shooting is a sport and Hunting is for meat. Itk... people carry many more diseases than marrmots with ticks, perhaps we should start our clean-up with our own species.LOL.
Messagesrainbow warrior...You're right. Cougars don't kill "that many" people. I was just using that as example of the kind of simple mindset that thinks problems in the natural world can be solved by indiscriminate killing of a species of animal. As Lone Lobo pointed out, deer are known to carry ticks. Does that justify blasting every deer?
Messageshello everone HOPE all is well with everyone.... I too was taught to eat what I shoot. shot many deer, moose , and a few elk and ate every one of them. (will shoot a cougar if I get the chance ) but don't think i'd eat any of it, stuffed sounds good.lol. JDS... cougars don't kill that many people but they sure take their toll on the deer. A........as they say there is no hope in HOPE , but maybe beyond hope. I must like rambos town cause Ive been here 45yrs.lol.
MessagesAugie, warr do ya suggest it get stuffed inta, as fur wormies thar jus more proteen .... gas used ta be cheapest at the maverik station just as you leave yakima headed towards naches .... gotta go waist sum petrol now ... lol
MessagesThey do buy Verpa's in Portland. I'm paying 3.31 a gal on gas.
Messagestea ready yet - well looks like im stayin in town, for mushys, gas way too much for my war pony and too lil prices for morels...... got many verpa B, but they are worthless only good for rocket fuel or someone with a cast steel gut.....
MessagesLoon lobo and anyone ele's that is thinking of trying couger meat. You best cook it well are you may fine yourself with worm's and other parasite's from the meat and or very sick. My dad said the same thing if you kill it you eat it.! If you don't eat it then stuff it!.
Messagesi have read postings about controlling the population by not having children, i do not agree but in keeping with the"hyperbole" line of thought i once read a bumper-snicker that suggested the best way a believing person could help would be to start with themselves
MessagesMy father shot a deer in Idaho (when I was a teenager) that had hundreds of ticks attached to the poor amimal, I did not know anything about tick fevers back then. .... I stopped killing pretty much anything after returning to the states in 2006 from three years across the pond with Uncle Sam's doings. .... I have heard that marmots and cougar are prime eating but have not tried either one and was taught that you eat anything you kill, therefore if I ever do kill one of them then I am sure to share with you how they tasted, lol. .............. They could be as good eating as rattlesnake, ya think ?
MessagesJDS it was me that said it. Now i'll direct you to you dictionary for the meaning of "Hyperbole"
MessagesA...The message I was responding to was posted on Friday, March 14, at 4:59 PM.
MessagesJDS, sorry butI don't recall the post and if I had seen it I myself would of said something along the line's you posted.? how fare back wasthe post?
MessagesWow JDS, we do agree on something! lol Your post is 100% right.
MessagesA few days ago, someone was bragging about shooting every marmot he/she saw. Since no one else posted a comment regarding that message, I will. Anyone who thinks they can solve problems by shooting a breed of animals is just plain ignorant. Does that person think they should shoot every hawk they see to protect grouse? Or every cougar to protect humans? Thinking like that is backward and pathetic.
MessagesDan,dan your are man if you can't find them no one can.lol
MessagesThe way gas is price's are going, they may just seat up at your local gas pump.
Messagesneeding to know where the buyers in canada are setting up for morels this season oooohhh i cant wait full buckets to all!!
MessagesHi Matsiman. It sure is good to hear that things are shaping up!!! We miss you here though...
MessagesZorro, all you gotta do is come visiting...:-)
MessagesSaint Patty's Day is for those that belive green is green and those that say we all most go green but not I, I like blue, blue sky's, blue water, blue's.blue moon's(that spill's moon),blue chip's,summer time blue's,blue book and anything that is blue and I have the blue's for Morel's. Andy, really Nice to see you back in your send box. It's been a long winter without you around and I'am happy to see you have work and lot's of fun work on the board to do and thank you for the blue print lol.
Messages00ps; I neglected to say, HAPPY SAINT PATTY'S DAY to everyone and be sure to be wearing a bit 0 the green...
MessagesAndy; many thanks for all that you do to provide such an informative matsutake site and this great easy-to-use discussion board. ......... August; it is now Monday, re-set your clock, lol. ......... mushroom mary; that was the same price here on Saturday at our lowest priced stations but I say it up two more cents on Sunday... OUCH, Western Oregon is much higher in the Jack Creek area...
Messagesnice to see you matsiman...dang, those are some long hours you're working... hope you're holding up ok... wow, Randy, that's horrible what you're paying...almost as bad as New Zealand right now. We are at $3.17 a gallon here in SW Montana but I'm sure that won't last long.
MessagesGreetings all, Yes, I'm alive and well. Have no cell coverage or internet where I am. I just got a dial up connection where I work. Work from 3 AM to 5 PM. It's limited cause it's a work number, but I can check email and do some editing. The new server has 50 mail boxes I can use. Any of you who support the site may have a matsiman.com email account. Just getting started with learning how to set things up. I can create an email account though. Just send the user name and password you want, and I'll create an account for ya. Spam filters are stopping most spam!!! Later, Matsiman
MessagesGas prices will hurt everyone. Its $4.80 usd a US gallon here in southern BC. Getting to the patches or moving locations will cost 20% more right now. They predict prices will climb to $6/gallon before summer, knowing that many pickers dont drive economic transportation, I would expect less pickers in the field.................... I have sold out of my frozen matsutake (with rave reviews) but have lots of chanterelles left.... mostly buttons. ....................... Randy

MessagesNow what would I need to do to be feed like lobo.
MessagesCome on down Lobo, I will be happy to feed yah while you're here!
MessagesI though this was monday.lol
MessagesIt is Sunday August, some of us have other things to do today, lol
MessagesWhat must I do to get you all talking about anything are something. Like how was the day to you all are how many day dream's of morel's did you have today. Ziquinn where the hell are you now day's.There is no hope without hope from the tomb of lost hope town and if you live there tell me more about the hope town tomb.I would almost say anything to get you all to talk. Verpa's anyone?
MessagesGone out to the tick pitch found some verpa's and a hand full of tick's from tick city
MessagesI would just like to good morning to all and no snow morel out this way but I did stay at the Holiday Inn, dose that help.
MessagesGood Morning Carla, I am getting itchy-footed to go foraging for morels. I may have to head out your way to get my fix if my local patches do not pop soon...
MessagesHi Woofer Thanks for the update and the clean up!
MessagesAugust; did you find any sno-morels yet...?
MessagesI was able to finally get back in after spending some time with matsiman on the phone, I had my username and P/w backwards and it was why i couldnt log in, we are gonna try some fun things coming up in the near future, Maybe a registered user board, a blog and maybe a few other things after we poke a round in the new server set up. Matsiman is doing good, just working a bunch
Messagesrainbow warrior, shoegy's daughter is 12! well i hope you have a good spring break w/ur kids. im sure we are gonna have some fun too. well, dont have too much to say so talk to you later! chantrelly.
MessagesAndy, are you the one that clean up the board?......... are you there?..........and how long have you been there if so?......... are you back to your cat box?............if so let us know but then if your not?............ what's a picker to do to keep the board clean?.............. use windex?...........I'll just call you next time?..... and thank's whom ever?
MessagesFrom a buyer standpoint, the gas money it takes to pick may very well hurt us, that is for sure...What do you mean by some buyers input, I am not sure what you are looking for, it's still early you know ;-) In our area it will be easier for the pickers because it is such a small place that these guys have all known each other forever and ever so they can very well team up and save on gas costs that way...
MessagesAugust; woofer said that he could not get logged in to clean the board and I believe that he said the same thing a few days ago after Andy changed to the new server, so I would surmise that you may be messaging the wrong person. I tried to call you about it but no one picked up the phone, perhaps yopu are out picking snow morels... lol
MessagesAAAHHHHHHH spring!!!
MessagesFive more day's and it could be spring!.
MessagesWell if you clean up the board Woofer you inturn lost some of my post that was just after the sick person!, was there a reason?I would like to know!
MessagesAugust; she, not he ...... only the females suck blood, they need it for making their new little ticks or new little mosquitoes ...... the males hang out in the background and watch, lol
MessagesI cant get logged in for soem reason, Am trying to get right log in info to clean up board
MessagesThere is never a pun when you say tick's suck they really suck (blood) and just maybe if one should bit me he would have a hell of a time coming down with HCV.
Messageslobo, we got 3 inches here this morning but it melted off this afternoon. I like this big fluffy wet snow...it does the most good.
MessagesWe just got an inch of thunder-snow here in the valley and another front is on the horizon.
MessagesHowdy all. Ticks are scary. I caught rocky mountain spotted fever from one when i was about 12 years old. All im going to say was it sucked! No pun intended. In the west yellow belly marmots host the tick that host the disease...i shoot everyone i see, or let the dog get em. A friend has been bit twice by Lyme disease carrying ticks, he's a mess already and he's only in his mid 30's. ......and scotty could you beam me back to washington please....im stuck and homesick!!!!!!
MessagesThanks for the phone call August, good to talk with you again. Hopefully Andy will be able to finally get rid of that spammer, woofer told me last time that he had the info on the person and it had been reported. ...... Well being as I have never tried coffee I am not one to know the difference between it and a cuppa joe, which reminds me I need to purchase some coke-a-cola today to clean the reclaimed gold I traded for, maybe coffee would work also if I had some. Nitric acid might also do the job.
MessagesI love coffee but don't like a cup of joe. you can have the joey. If the market price dose not go up to off seat the cost of gas for the picker's we may not see very many out there picking. Small town's well have a higher price on gas and food and most picker's well not be able travel fare are make much money by saleing fresh product's.So what well happen?I really don't know but it would help if some of them Joe's an Buyer's out there could take the time here to help us with some input.................Now for the SICK PERSON that posted the Sicky site's. It would be nice to take it some where ele's and I don't belive your mother would like you posting it here. There are kid's like mine that read this site and I don't won't them going to those site's so could you stop doing this.
MessagesYEPPER there is always a challenge for us to overcome where ever we go, if gold had kept up with inflation over the years it would be around $3,000.00 + per ounce currently. It is interesting to see that some things do and others like the price of gourmet mushrooms does not. The price of wheat is going up quickly now so then the price of bread will do so also. ... go figure and if you think you have it all figured out I certainly would like to know. ...... Didn't the price of coffee spike quite high a few years back but did it stop those who love a cup of joe from drinking it?
MessagesI am all over the coffee today, I need it in this nasty weather! :-)
MessagesSo is Wall Street. Monring Carla,This is coffee hour.
MessagesI just like to say that as long as Oil&Gold gose up and the dollar gose down the more dollar's it take's to buy Oil and everthing ele's well cost more dollar's. Just ask those just north of the 49th, there dollar was like are's now.Federal Reserve hold much Gold to back the dollar but what happen's when Bank's oversea's send's back dollar's for Gold and Gold gose up in price?, we lose.!
MessagesGood Morning. The weather has taken a turn for the worse over here in my neck of the woods... It s blowing and pouring here today!
MessagesBoletus Joe; you have a point, the FED is responsible for much stupidity but they do not have a patient on it, there seems to be enough to share world-wide, even in the mushroom industry. I shall enjoy the aesthetics of nature this summer as much as possible because picking mushrooms does not hurt my back like some other things do. .... Reports say that the farmers are scrambling to produce crops to feed the bio-fuel craze which in turn is causing food prices to rise, that may make oil go down but in turn it is projected to cause other problems. .... It is like we are in a no-win situation ... I have not had a mortgage to worry about since 1979 because I cannot afford to have one and am not sure I would get one if I could afford it. ........ I do believe that I need to get smarter in marketing my product, train a dog to help me sniff out underground treasures and live the mobile lifestyle, enjoying as much nature as possible before it is all gone. .... As for mining they have been poluting Southern Idaho with major levels of mercury coming in the air from Nevada and in the news a big mine is getting shut down for now. .... I do enjoy sniping the stream-side bedrock cracks for placer gold and hope to get my new idea up and running by summer. I do not agree with raping the land and stream bottoms for the treasures, however even the Idaho Fish and Game folks have been known to use gold suction dredges to improve fish habitat and create cleaned spawning areas.
Messageschantrelly... yes that was I. there was a lot of snow(about 4 feet) in your driveway. I was on my way home from a freinds house by dogwood. too lazy to wade through the snow.lol. how old is shoegy's kid? mine are 8 and 10. I'm going to Kelowna on the weekend to pick them up, they have two weeks off. we will try to get together. thanks ,later
Messagesrainbow warrior, how are you doing now? im doing ok. well shoegy is going to have is daughter over for spring break! we would like to meet up w/u again. one time when the snow was here shoegy thought he saw you pull out of the neighbours driveway and going towards Hope. (our driveway was snowed in!) was that you? well talk to you later! chantrelly.
MessagesI think I have said it before, But I will say it again. TOO MANY PEOPLE IN THE WORLD-------- Why is gold going up, Because the "Federal Reserve" (those guys that control the money supply) have screwed up again..... Print more money and the price of everything goes up. They (the FedRes) think they can save the world buy printing more money. There is only so much oil, so much energy, so much wheat, so much copper etc etc. And as long as more and more people want some of the action, and they will, well get ready for a lot of s**t to happen ....soon. Sort of like having a stick of dynamite in your hand and trying to figure out just where to throw it before it blows up in your face. Sorry to be so negative.... but people are being tossed out on the street because they can't pay there mortgages on homes they should never been allowed to buy in the first place ..... Just wait till the first big bank collapses in the US. It is very close... But the FedRes will just print more money and mortgage your kids future and pretend everything is cool. Well you get the picture..... So lets all just go to our patches and enjoy nature. Maybe find a good horse...:)
Messageswent out and got a few nice bags of hedgehogs, trumpets and yellow feet, even saw fasle morels in the 1500-2000 asl areas by Glendale, morels should be here anyday now, will check a few bark patches here in town tomorrow afternoon
MessagesAugust, if you want to keep the mom and pop stores alive it is not that hard... Just go there and buy stuff and encourage everyone you know to shop locally. I live in a small town and whenever possible we try to support our local business's.
Messagescarla...Ive had several diesels 3/4tons and once you get by the noise and smell they did a fine job!! I dont know what the price for fuel is where you are but up here gas is now cheaper, and parts for the gasers are always cheaper. I also save about 11 percent for having status, that helps big time when it's a $90 fill. I guess no matter what if we want to get somewhere we have to bite the bullet and fill the tank.
MessagesHi rainbow warrior. I have 2 3/4 ton 4X4's and one gets 20 miles to the gallon Diesel and the other one has a 6 cylinder in it so it gets 14-15 MPG. I have to look for gas mileage but i also have to be able to haul kids, mushrooms and dogs... Now on the other hand my husband has a 3/4 ton 4X4 that only gets 10 on a good day with the wind at his back... LOL I love to drive big old suburbans (they will take the wreck for you and you can walk away) so finding the diesel one was a stroke of the best luck I have had in years!
Messagesit's a damn good thing they taste so good, cause even at $00.00 I'll drag my ass out in the wet damp mountains just to get the flavour to savour.
MessagesAMEN, I quit picking pines to sell due to the drop from hundreds of $ in the mid 90's to a pitiful few $ that it only may take the fingers of one hand to count...
Messages$80 per pound sounds about what they are worth.with pines it's opposite to life . instead of going up 4x they go down10x their value!!! LIFE just isn't fair. too many politicians paying $1000 a night for some fun!!! sooner or later _ _ _t's gotta hit the fan
MessagesWell my posted name above says much about me, I do not care for crowds or car pooling to get mushrooms. .... My understanding is that a lobo is a lone male wolf that keeps mostly to himself. I like seeing gold go up because it is one of the ways I have made my income in the past, conversly I do not like seeing oil go up because it makes it more expensive for me to hunt for the mushrooms that I like even more than gold. .... I have been going through boxes of papers and old fire maps, mushroom permits and forest information and came upon a newspaper page from April 19th 2000 where it lists crude oil at $25.76 per barrel, gold at $281.00 per ounce and silver at $5.127. ........ That was only eight years ago and August has a good point about the economy, if morels were to increase in price porportinately then we ought to be getting about four times as much for our labor, $80.00 per pound for fresh morels in spring when the price is at about $20.00 etc.
Messagesman has lived on this planet alot longer without autos than with. if we can't adjust back we may as well take the same door as the dodo's and become extinct!!! I guess I'm not one to talk I don't know what I would do without my gas guzzeling 3/4ton 4x4.( have sore feet) lol.
MessagesYes and Billy Crystal is Play Baseball..........With all the little mom&pop store's gone what well we do when we can't by gas, rent a horse and wagon?hmmmmm
MessagesYour crystal balls are on the fritz...
MessagesI boycott Walmart because of the third world labor practices, such as extreme child abuse by making those kids work exhausting hours just so we can get the same prices that KMart has... I don't think so! And just because they appear cheaper doesn't make it right to exploit children. I do say appear because I have friends that shop at Walmart and I get way better bargains at KMart...Plus Kmart has a plan that for a few dollars more you get a type of insurance on the bigger items that really does pay off, my vacuum broke and they sent me a check for the full purchase price! The one i wanted happened to be on sale so I actually made a profit that time.
MessagesAs long as the dollar gose down the Gold well go up and so well gas, food, part's fore your Winnebago. I'am sorry but I would like to see it go down and let the dollar go back up where it belong's. As I see, Oil is becomeing the big peoble for the World and the economy. Stock broker's keep buying stock in Gold and Oil and we suffer and people keep losing there home because someone out there dose not care as long as you keep making your payment's to them and they still are not happy tell they suck ever penney from your pocket's. Some could say it because Bush and friend's, won't it this way but it gose deeper then them. It's people like Ben O'loden and a coke nut in office in Venezluela whom dose not like the world and the people in it. We all know that Oil well be gone soon and the world well need to create new way's to keep Man kind alive with out Oil, tell then the world need's to slow down but if we slow down then are econoy world wide well be affeeted and only those with Gold&Oil well dictate what man can do are go. We live in a freeworld and I pray that we can keep it free for all and not have to live in a counter that dictate's to the people. Some of you understand what is wrong with this world and some just don't care. I belive we may find are self's looking at a old way of life that where the mom an pop store's by ever corner my have a come back if gas keep's us from driving to a WallMart sever mile's away. Beleive me I'am not trying to say Doom's Day is coming just trying to point out what we as people need to remember. Save all that you can and spend less and if you can hunt with a group to save some gas and are planet from globow warming do so. I can say that I have been helping by not driving and I have not pick up a new car and yes Carla jail birds do fly with Red Bull.
MessagesAugust; The peak current gold price hit $1,000.60 today. .... I traded my Winnebago and one of my home designed gold suckers for gold last week so I hope the price goes through the roof... now I need to get busy on my new inventive gold sucking design for this summer.
Messages... oh that bud, I was thinking of draft horses pulling a beer wagon, but then I have never tried either type of bud so that may be why the darned things like my blood so much, lol
Messageslobo... you are probably quite right bud has been around for a very long time . up here north of the 49th with the lack luster laws our product has GROWN to produce a much better quality than that which christ would have had to smoke.lol . but all the smoke does help keep the bugs away. better than deep woods off!!
MessagesBUUUUDDDD..........bbbbbuuuuuuuddddddd..........wiseeeeeeeee...........errrrrrrrrrrr
MessagesI have no idea but maybe bud is from way in the past "Before Christ"...?... When I drove back from working in Alaska with my wolf type in 1982, drove through a beautiful country known as BC, the blood sucking mosquities were really bad between Laird River, Fort Nelson and Fort St. John.
MessagesHey now, I am not a sour apple and the blood suckers don't like me either. My daughter is the one they always go after, poor thing! I do eat loads of garlic... But then again so does the rest of my family since I do the cooking...It's another great mystery... ;-)
MessagesAugust, thanks for the offer, my coffee is kind of weak this morning...
MessagesWho's bud? and who's B.C.?
Messages...forgot to mention that when I walked out with my Alaskan wolf mix on the 4th of July one year from a mining claim I had deep in the Idaho Salmon River Country I lost count after picking 50 ticks off him and myself...
MessagesYou are probably correct and it would be an interesting research subject for someone so inclined. .... When I was working Military Police Dogs in California the ticks would get on the dog all the time but never on me, I never saw any ticks on the dogs in Korea or Spain.
Messagesspent lots of time in the bush and had to pick many a ticks from my dog but never been bite myself. maybe its all the good B.C. bud I have in my system!!lol.
MessagesWell it is only my opinion but I do feel that there is something in a persons system that repells them blood suckers. I have heard of folks eating garlic to do it but my childrens mother ate the same foods that I did and they never ever sucked her blood... go figure... then again she had a real sour-apples disposition...
MessagesYes,you have a point on usefull purpose in life other then to suck are blood.I can't thank of any other reason. Dear god why?.
Messagesrainbow warrior, yes that was us! we went to the Hope General Store! that was a nice bike ride. trying to get back into shape after the snowy winter that locked us in. yes them morels sure taste gooood. well talk to you later! chantrelly.
MessagesYEP it is that time of year when the female ticks and mosquitoes need blood to propigate their species, but it seems to me that the little blood-suckers have no useful purpose. .... I think that they like good-hearted persons more than sour-apple ones...
MessagesLoon lobo, I do recive my med's from the V.A. free and medical as well. I have herd that there is a tick blood bank at Jack Creek.hmmmmmm................Carla I do have coffee if you need some but it's left over from Wednesday and it should be good lol.
MessagesAugust; Isn't it cheaper to use the VA meds rather than the card, some of my uncle's meds he gets from the VA and some are cheaper at WalMart but he never did enroll in that card deal. ...... Horray for Jack Creek ticks, they will get the blood they desire again if we send enough pickers that way, lol.
Messageschantrelly...did I see you riding down the hyway by dogwood on sunday? drove by with my kids and thought I saw ya!! anyway pines seem so far off .I can't wait to fill my buckets with fresh , beautiful MORELS. ttys
MessagesA Tack a day well not keep the Docter away and we well have a blood drive at Jack's Creek........A'
MessagesMattie, I got my madicare card last month. I do have some question's on my Madicare plan and don't know what is the best for me. I also sent in my Application for Preacription Drug Plan but they said that my plan well not cover mushroom's from Alice's drug store.
MessagesGot my medicare card in the mail today..old, old, old...but still going good...
Messagesyou didn't have to remind me about the ticks at Jacks Creek. The only place I ever get them, only got one and Dick got one year before last..so not enough to keep us out of there.
MessagesYes the fire's below 49th well do well as well as the fire's from two year's ago that never put on last year's due to dryness. Yes slim picken's, they can and they could be used for explosive meterials and to start your camp fire's but most of all you can use them to dry your morel's due to there radiance heat.lol
MessagesBoletus Joe, I heard folks speaking of some burns up there that were said to have very good potential and that King Morel was going to be setting up a large operation for drying, possibly in the Yukon ?
MessagesHello "Dan of the Woods" ... unless there is a buyer out there that uses the same name as I do, I think you are out of luck with your request. I only pick, don't want any part of the buying side of things. That said, It looks to me that most fortunes will be made south of the 49*00th. Full buckets to everyone.....
Messagesbut can they move a rubber tree plant ?
MessagesBUTCH THE BUYER IN BC IS A MAJOR CRACK HEAD BUYER JOE FROM PONDEROSA PLEASE SEND UP A BETTER BUYER PLUS HES FUDGING YOUR NUMBERS
MessagesI have not herd about radioactive spider's but we do have ant's that glow in the dark east of here.
Messagesticks and mosquitoes never bothered my ex, professional courtesy i think
MessagesAugust; I always spray my clothes with that stuff that ticks hate that is not to be placed on skin and tuck my pants into boots to make them little girls crawl up the outside so that it is easier to see them and spray my skin with a deet mixture. ;;;; The thing that I discovered at Jack Creek area is that some of those little beggers do not seem to be affected by the spray like ticks in other areas are so maybe there are radio-active spiders also, lol. (they are the ones with tiny transistors)
MessagesThank's loon lobo now you got me itching and thinking about the dam wood tick. I had never seen a tick tell my frist trip to jack's creek many year's ago. I could of gone a long time with out the thought of them crewing all over me at night in my sleeping bag.! Last year was the frist year in god know's how it been that I have not seen a tick, I could only hope that I don't see one this year.!............Carla the coffee is done, need a cup.........Mattis, for some one that is as old as she say, you keep yourself up and looking good.lol
MessagesAugust; I have been getting the morel itch pretty badly also but snow is predicted here in a couple days. .. I just remembered one thing I will not miss if I do not go to Jacks Camp and that is the large amount of wood ticks that crawl into tents to feed on the warm bodies. .. The bushes are full of them things and I get tired of checking for them.
MessagesHOW rainbow warrior and everyone else! liking the weather? its gonna be a little harder for me to pick alot of mushrooms! because this winter has taken a toll on me! cant wait to see the park picking spot you were telling shoegy and i about! well im running out of things to say so have a good evening! talk to you later! chantrelly.
Messagessounds like a pretty good party gunna be happinin at Jacks creek. wish I could be there!!! Just have to make our own party north of the ol 49th. lol. happy pickin everyone.
Messagesboletus joe where are you buying morels this year in bc?
Messageshey wheres everyone camping in bc for morels? full buckets soon guys and gals
MessagesLoon lobo then I well not go as well because I hear the call from the Wild Cascades Morel's of Washington calling me to join them as the season is almost here and no one but I well know where they are camped out along crow creek.
MessagesI don't know your area...
MessagesHow about me Carla would you also send me to a place with hog's. I could hear woofer sing down the road again all the way to the bank and over the hill to find grandmom's place.
MessagesA'.... no dirt at all, our friend Mattie is as clean as they come with a sweet disposition to go with it. .... Iffin you want here true age then she will need to be the one to tell on herself. ....... With gas prices going up and gold crying from the ground for me to rescue it I doubt that I will go visit Jack Creek this year. .... I haven't been there for about three or so years anyway and I do not miss the hoards of pickers scrambling for a few mushrooms.
MessagesHi Woofer, I just put in a new drive and some of my email was downloaded to my other drive and didn't download to my new program but I did get this one. Check out all of the draws, they should be loaded! Keep going up that road they used to be all over and you should be finding some hogs and feet also...
MessagesWoofer, why would you need to clean the board? Is there dirt on the screen that we must not see? are do you not won't people to know about jack's creek?...............Marin do you know where jack's creek is? and would buckshot also be coming?......Loon lobo, thank's for the dirty laundry on Mattie, is there more?
MessagesCarla... did you get my last e-mail? about any other places to for trumpets up where you sent me? if not I re-sent another one to ya
MessagesI was gonna clean up the board, but I cant log in.....
MessagesI would like to come meet everyone, I promise not to talk polotics and I'll try my best to keep my foot out of my mouth. Can I come to Jacks Creek?
MessagesYes I remember when gas was .50 a Gallon (Canadian Gal.).. Smokes were .30 cents. But let us not forget that the wages in those days were in the .75 to $1.25 per hour range. We have to keep things in perspective. I still think things were a lot simpler and laid back then. BTW --- my old '92 Dodge diesel gets about 24 miles to the (Canadian) Gallon... that's as good as it gets... should see some early morels within the next 2 weeks...
MessagesAugie; our friend puzzledmattie is a good looking thirty five, but I would be cautious if she admidts to be old enough to be collecting SS because I really think that her husband robbed the cradle, lol.
MessagesBefore my time,WELL i do recall filling up the tank for three dollar's and 50 cent's and cruiseing all week long. that ok if you like to tell your age Mattie lol. Yes kid's it's true all week long with a full tank for $ 3.50 and a pack of smoke's for 35 cent's.
Messagesmy kids don't believe that when I was a teenager we could cruise all around town on a dollar or two worth of gas and have gas left over, but of course, that was a decade before your time A
MessagesIf i could only find a 69'VW micro bus I could save alot more then a diesel could save and if it had flower's on it I could even save more by way of flower power ha ha ha. 69' that was a very good year, the good old day's when gas was 18 to23 cent's a gal. wooooo
MessagesYou guys need a diesel rig. Since I started driving my diesel suburban, I save a ton of money on gas. My gas suburban was getting 6-8 MPG but now I get 20 MPG diesel so it way more than makes up for the higher price of diesel... Plus I get to drive this huge beast that all of the kids and dogs can fit in!
MessagesGot a van but no flowers on it..traded in the hippie van for a pickup and fifth wheel trailer...will that work..that is if the gas gets cheaper, otherwise we might have to go the way we went when we met up with Lobo a couple of years ago.
