You're Welcome :-)
Thanks for the info, it save's me a trip for now. I look forward to meeting you someday Carla! I hope thing's pick up for you and your pickers, thank you to, Old Timer! Happy Holidays Everyone!
From what I am hearing it is about a 75% loss. The guys are able to pick about 25% of what they see.... sigh
TK its starting to open up steep faces late areas some recovery best reguards old timer
Hey Carla, any news?
Yeah Jackie lent me $10 one day in 1994, I was cruisin through Terrace tryin to figure out the shroom deal and was down and out with my native friend...those $10 bucks are well remembered...I think we threw $7 into the tank and had a few Tim Hortons bisquits! Thanks Jackie and all the best to ya!!!
I am not sure TK, I will find out more today after the buy. This will be the first day I am open after the freeze ;-)
Hi Carla, did the snow kill off the chantrells in your area? We're thinking of coming back down but only if ther's mushrooms to make a little money.
Antonio and I work for the same company as Tom in Brookings and I have been at 3 for blacks for 2 weeks now. He probably didn't know the price had dropped, he doesn't get blacks in his area very often. Those are probably the only ones he will buy all year...
Hey starving, I didn't pick any blacks, but Antonio in Reedsport bought half a basket monday for $8.00 a lb. the price's I reported are the one's post on board in his depot. Antonio seems to be a very good buyer!
hey tk how long have you been getting $8 for blacks ive been getting $3 to $4 in brookings for the last 2 weeks kinda sounds like the buyers are getting greedy down here its all froze here might be a few good ones in the lower patches time to go fishing happy thanksgiving to all exept for you greedy buyers lol
Just got home to Tacoma late last night from Reedsport, Oregon. Woke up to snow on the coast and the chantrells had froze over night, we tried picking in the snow but but no good so we came home. The price for chanties is $1.50 and $.50, hedgehogs $2.00, cauliflower $5.00 and black trumpets $8.00
I thought coming down the mountain i would be done picking in the snow this year! guess not!
yes-howdy it was cold here also last nite... down to +50 degrees F
BRrrrrrr.....Mushroom popsicles,Anyone?
sorry forest harvester i'am a fire fighter and didnt go on one fire due to the summer rains we got not sure were you pick matsis but me and my uncle were picking 30-40 pounds 1's, 2's each in a half a day i would say the last ten years might of been the driest.
Hey thee folk., greetings from the now cold northeast., it was a dismal wild mushroom season , best year on my shitake farm though ., The reason, I could control the amount of water needed on the farm. old timers (farmers] told me , that this year was the driest year in their memory., anyways we got a bit of rain at the end of the year, that made matsies trickle , no big flushes except on micro-environments ., anyways I'm done for the year , final deliveries next few days and on Thursday I'm heading down to Mexico., hell ,I hope not to get shoot, is crazy down there. Be well all and talk to you latter.
are chantees really going for 5.00 a pound in roseburg area?Rumors are flying around eugene town and I know it has got to be b.s. Are there any chantees around reedsport area or is it dried up?

Hey mushroombandit....Shelley is buying in Powell River B.C.
where is shelly buying?
i totally agree shelley is a leader and if i was to go out pickin shes the only person i would ever sell too just because she is honest and stays true to herself thro good and bad seasons she is there no matter how much she gets
CJ slow 11 - 1's 2's.
does anyone know how the matsi's are doing down in cavejunction or brookings area? is it worth the trip? prices? good picking to all!!
Shelley's paying $12.00 and has been for the past 4 to5 days, thats a big IF AND WHEN Trevor's open, remember he's another one that only opens for the cream of the crop! Shelley's only a Leader not a follower!
who`s Trevor?
hey 12345 not sure what shes paying but if trevor is still open she pays whatever he pays and ???
Is it really true that buyers are only paying pickers in Mount Curry 2 dollars a pound the last few days? We havent seen those prices since early October. Crazy
Is Shelley still buying and if so what's the price.
Look out southern Oregon, one hippie and one redneck headed your way today from western Washington! LOL!!! Chanterel's here we come!
My previous post was in response to envirochicks comment which I see has now been deleted!
Sounds like an oxy moron to me, how can we be hippies and rednecks at the same time? LOL!!!
As I was requested by a friend to check out this site, here I am. So nice. A Big mushroom basket of thank yous to all of "YOU" for the heart-warming comments. Now is a good time for me to acknowledge and truly express my gratitude to all my magnificent supporter's,"YOU have been my power through all these crazy years. You have all worked so hard and "I" honor every one of "YOU" . It's been an amazing journey. Thanks Rick and Thank you my Dear friend Matsutake Jackie.
Just a short note to say a big Thanks Shelley! you will be missed.
Hey! smiley-girl! Cheers to ya! will miss ya!Love Ya LOT'S....." and "as "you" say!... that's all I got to say about that!
Yep!...all I have to say is....Oh my god! Shelley is leaving?...I did not know! What the hell! She is always there you know if my buyer all of a sudden closes...she's there! I only sell to her because she's....closer! I always look forward to when she is closed so I can sell to Shelley! she has a warm smile, chocolate bars, a warm fire, always a hot coffee..and when it's cool...... absolutely there's a cold water or pop!. I Loved that you are always there! Shelley "YOU "will be missed by even us...the other pickers!...big mushroom hugs to you! WoW! I'M SAD!
Jackie u are a great person and buyer.. hope all goes well with you and your fight. I have many memories of you and your station first buyer i have ever sold to.. Always a smile and a hot coffee at the end of the day... hope your fight goes good for you... You have alot of great people behind you sending best wishes and prayers your way.. (this is the girl that works at the deli) As far as Shelley goes... i have only ever picked powell river once and she was the one i sold to..she always treated our crew great.. wish you all the best in your future endevours..
Hello Jackie, hope all is well with you, picked Nakusp this year, and heard through the buyer there about your bit with the big C.My thoughts and prayers are with you. I also think you are an awesome buyer,an icon,as well as a great mother and grandmother. It was when Greg took me across the river that gave me the fever, and I've been hooked ever since, over 10 years.and in those years, you've given me many great memories. Prices suck and on this board alot of pickers are being very negativetoward the buyers, people that count on the extra income, understandably they are disgruntled,so its nice to hear some positive comments. I missed seeing you this year,I hope youare all fine.In my books you are the best buyer out there, sorry TC,even legendary.when it comes to mushrooms in terrace, everyones heard about Jackies mushroom depot, even those that don't pick.. DANNY from Calgary ps.say hello to Greg for me,and Eric
Jackie Penner, Is one of the best people/buyer! I know she has a lot of support from the pickers that know her! Jackie, I'll always be your friend! xoMarion
So sorry to hear that you've been battling cancer Jackie.Speaking of great buyers, you are one of them. You were the first buyer we ever sold to,and we think the world of you!We sure miss the good old days, and all the great people we met. Please get well soon!!! Linda
Like I said, I never knew Shelly and I'm positive she will be missed, Just like you have been missed in Randle, Jackie. You also have lots of friends here that haven't forgot you! I'm happy to hear your doing well under such trying conditions!
TO: TK Hi TK thanks for the kind words and I am recovering it's been a long battle with cancer and the mushroom Gods are definately looking after me. "One day at a time" Yesterday's history, tomorrows a mystery . Be safe. xojackie
Hi from Terrace just to say thank you to Shelly my dear friend in Powell river . Mushrooms Do not grow in bathtubs.LOL A big hello to KON(buyer) in Oregon. Thanks for the surprise ph. call Hi Neil. A big hello to all the pickers out there who are workin their tush's off. That's where it all started. thank you and happy trails. xojackie
I'm speechless, what? Shelley's last year! I just don't know what to say. Thanks so much for WELL.. the feel at home welcome every time I walk in the door. Thanks for buying my daughter's dirty wet chanterelles and taking the time to explain the picking procedures( I know you dumped them in the garbage when we left!)...she still picks with me 5yrs later.I'm sad your leaving! You make me want to pick! :(
i dont usually write on here but today before i go picking i was reading the messages and was surprised to see that shelley is leaving us pickers well this is true surprise guess the last thing us pickers here in powell river can count on in this industry wont be there anymore. wow i dont know what to say but thanks shelley for being there for us for 30 years and thanks for the wonderful memories you will be sadly missed next year just wont be the same without your smiling face
taylor2lazy & South of the border, There were 2 buyers in CJ. Not sure if they are both still there, but most likely. Prices were 7 for 1's. They weren't buying anything under a 3. Waiting to see if there will be a new flush. Almost nothing but flowers for the last few days. Later, Matsiman
Any prices for cave junction?
Hello Shelly, if you look here ..(.I don't often) . It was nice to see you at Musicfest a few years ago. It took me by surprise. How the years have passed. A lot of water under the bridge. I cherish memories of the first days. How you took us in.. then a very young mother of twins, and unselfishly fed us poor hungry deadbeat mushroom pickers Yes, we were dreamers it seemed. But somehow our dreams sort of came true, in part thanks to you and Cam. Shelly You have out lasted us all and your supporters deserve a big thumbs up too. I truly know how hard you fought for your people. You had to bear the front line exposure for a dying industry and I respect that. Hope your supporters and people in this space some how will realize. Al would agree too. I miss him.And daughter Tracy Lost in2002 . All my love, and as you see .. people still care Rick
Don't be 2lazytaylor, go into Happy Camp and find out!
I am close to Happy Camp California and I cant seem to get any info on matsutake buyer can anyone help me.I will even go to cave junction.Got the mushroom but no buyer. How much are they going for?
hey all, im heading to eugene to pick chanties. anyone know prices out there?
Yes it is truly a sad year in Powell River knowing this is shelleys last year as a buyer. She is truley going to be missed by many pickers. As a picker I have tried all the other buyers that either come to Powell River or live here but I always go back to Shelley and I can honestly say the best buyer ever. She is honest and very loyal to her pickers. I have seen her fight with the big boys to get the prices up for her pickers. Everyone is treated as an equal that comes into her station whether they have 1 lb of or 100 lbs of mushrooms. If you have ever been in her station to experience the closeness of the pickers that come there its like a big family and we are all very saddened to know that we will not have Shelley to fight for us pickers anymore. People think that because she is open when the prices are low she is not for the pickers but they are so wrong its because of us pickers that she stays open. And when the prices are too low she will give her commission away to the pickers because she feels bad the prices are low and knows how hard we work for the mushrooms. I have also seen how many of the other buyers here in Powell River will send spy's up to her station to either see the quantity she is getting or to try and get pickers to go to there station instead and its very disheartening to know that they would stoop so low as to discredit her the way they do because they just see us pickers as $ signs while Shelley see us pickers as family and hard workers. It also is very sad to know the other buyers here are all rubbing there hands together thinking more money for us when she goes. The lies and dishonesty that goes on in other stations is disgusting and I know many pickers here are trying to get Shelley to change her mind and keep buying. Once Shelley retirers the pickers in Powell River will surly see the mushroom industry here go down the tubes even more next year and the years to follow, and us pickers will never have a place to go to chat with other pickers and feel like a family again. So as you can see it is one of the saddest years in Powell River not just from the price but knowing we are loosing the best buyer in this crazy industry. Shelley you will be truly missed by all us pickers and life as a mushroom picker will never been the same here again. It saddens me to know this industry is loosing the best buyer out there, and who will we go to that will always have a smile on there face and treat us like hard working pickers and family, not just $ signs, or be honest, or loyal to us pickers. Nobody because we wont have Shelley anymore. I do wish you well in your next adventure and remember us pickers will always have you in our hearts and thankyou for being there for us pickers all those years...............................................
I never met Shelly and i'm sure she is one of the best, I really am sadend to hear that a very decent person/buyer has had it with the system of todays, way's! We all are sadend by the system of the big boys treating us like we don't work for our money. They don't appreciate the time, effort and money that is involved in harvesting the matsitake, the white gold they sale in Japan!
Just a little note..... For anyone who has had the pleasure of knowing,dealing,and/or selling to, Shelley from Powell River. Please be advised that she is hanging up her gloves, returning her scales and baskets. All this after 30 years in this business. She will be truly missed by a lot of pickers here in P.R. and remembered by a lot of others. One of the better buyers out there, for sure. Can't say as I blame her, there are not too many people of her caliber that would have stuck around this long, what with the way the markets have been the past few years. But always a smile and a word of encouragement when you went to her station. Lots of good memories and good times. She always treated everyone (more than) fairly. Although there are those that would not agree. All I can say is they did not look past the monetary side, and see the real deal standing on the other side of the scales. Good luck in the next 30 years Shelley.... I know they will be just as much fun as the past.
Any buyers around the Dallas, OR area?
Your a friend and I wish you the best! CoosBay maybe, I hear the Chanty's are on and popping. I'm a chantrelle picker for a little while!
Andy, you as well need to call, I have something going on that I could use your help with.
Thank you TK, I well be out as soon as the snow melts gone out the day before and found 15 lbs of yellow's in one of my bed's and 9 lbs of buttons and still growing. I'll do that this weekend. Randy \ Kingmorel, CALL ME!!!. We need to talk! Your still a friend I would hope. Don't let this Chris this keep you from being a "FRIEND" ok.
Phantom maybe you should make another trip to TroutLake, Perry paid $20.00 a lb for 1's and 2's last night and $4 for three's. Problem was the snow dropped way down below the lava bed on the 66 road yesterday before we could pick. Supposed to melt back off, I'm done in Washington, may go to Cave Juction, not sure yet!
What is the price in Powell River and is there anything left.
If only they valued our mushrooms as much! At Tokyo's Tsukiji market, matsutake prices in September nearly doubled from a year earlier. Last Wednesday, 400 grams of matsutake mushrooms from Iwate Prefecture fetched ¥220,000 ($2,713.01 CAD) at an auction, a price one auction worker said he had never seen before. http://search.japantimes.co.jp/cgi-bin/nb20070907a2.html
8 bucks
What were they paying, Scruff??
What a great day picking north of Pemberton. And what absolutely filthy mushrooms people are bringing into the buyer. I have never seen mushrooms covered with so much dirt and duff and thats bad when noticed by a guy called Scruff.
I agree about the rain coming in august makes a summer crop I stand by this as well . I do however like to see it continue raining on and off all through sept. a little frost early helps kill the bugs. if it gets dry and hot after they pop it fks. the whole crop. rain timing also depends on elevation and longitude latitude
does anyone know the price for fresh lobster mushrooms
Baja Mushrooms: I had a very good Matsi pick on the rock first week Oct, did well at $12.50 across board, however gave eveything away after that as price was too low too sell. One Shiro alone produced 42 buttons with eqaul number left in ground to flush, was a good year for Matsi, however opted to drive down to San Jose del Cabo. Trip took 6 days in 90' Jeep Cherokee from Blaine, great trip, amazing terrain, especially Los Curious around Catavina, Old Loreto is a great town. There are Mushrooms on the Mexico Baja during the rainy season coming up. cheers, C
garf..................Thanks for the reply, yes never really came in down here but I did ok on my patches in Hope and Boston Bar.I can relate to the addiction , even if the buyers never wanted any I would still roam the hills, pick the patches and teach my kids how to respect the sacred grounds on which we live. Take care and happy choppuing. :)
Howdy, TK thanks for the heads up about matsi's. I looked around Mt. Baker but no luck. Seeing as how I am right on the BC border, I'm wondering if anyone out there would be able to tell me if there are still matsi's to be found in BC. I am about a two hour drive from Hope and that area, I come across the border at Abbotsford. Can anyone help out a hobbyist that wants to scratch this mushroom off their list? Thanks. Daddy in Wa
yes there was a few coming in alright rainbow... flagging now somewhat ..... i still find some... but i'm behind in my firewood orders now thanks to this mushroom picking addiction... lol i heard it was patchy down your way.... i sometimes go down the other end of the lake either side.... or around .... got quite a few friday where people had gone through but left all the juicy ones for me.... then of course continue on to where only the deer had picked.... gl full buckets
hey Garf............. what's happenin in ur neck of the woods? I heard through the grape vine a large amount came in ,in Pemberton? Anyhow I got enough to go with my venison so I am a HAPPY camper :) take care and lots of luck next year.
Sure has been an interesting year!!!
98% wormies .....just chuck the shrooms and eat the basket lol.
Just to let you know that if you don't recive the rain right at the time you don't get a supper crop. I look for rain the last two week's of August and the frist two week's of September and this year it came the last week of August. I stand by this.
LOL!!! Thats a good one Tinker!
whats going on the island anywhere anyone no couch pickers need not to answer
as far as being an idiot i sure do feel that way sometimes going out in the woods when its just raining so hard a dog won't go out there and spending hours looking at the ground and getting cold and wet..... getting home tired and sore and bones creaking ... lol hold it ... is that the rain slowing down??? i think i better get ready for another day.... full buckets ger
powell river has died off very fast, you can still find fresh ones but no volume. 8.lb hanging up my boots for the year. cheers
Rover,I guess you calling us greedy, and idiots, doesn't qualify as name calling???Anyone with half a brain should be able to see that we're being rake over the coals by the Joes.By the way,you have chosen an appropiate name for yourself!I do believe that you have rolled over, Rover!
curious to answer your ??? Bettys best is still open in britanniabeach .... georgina buys for them... sometimes ..... and as for rover and shogun i now dismiss their theories on the prices as i would the people who say global warming is not happening and cigarette smoke ... either first hand or second hand doesn't harm us.... there are always people flip side ... it is more amusing than anything.... and they never will change their minds because they are contrarians...is anyone still getting shrooms??? got a few yesterday.... full buckets ger
Shogun, and Rover. You have got to be buyers trying to feed us that crap! Navitour Vancouver Canada was selling Joe Chungs mushrooms for $100 CAD. delivered this year. You call that LOW prices? Also read the article about what the pickers were getting paid in Norway in 2007 for radioactive mushrooms. They were getting paid apx 25.00 a lb cad. when the Joes were paying Terrace pickers 2.00 a lb. Then read what the retail price was in Japan around 2007 for imported north american mushrooms. I am sure the Joe,s are enjoying there memories too while laying on the beach in the Bahamas laughing at you.
hey if anyone knows if betty's best is still in business and how to get ahold of them please let me know tried the 0075 number and its not in service
does anyone know if betty's best is still in business
so fellow pickers what info u gought for me on whats going on boston bar powell river or were on the island i can pick and sell
TK, i have seen that tooo many times...the crop starts out very nice and then just when ya don`t expect it, it puts the brakes on. Its been doing that for years on Van Island
Some things will never change!!!
Right on shogun some people need to understand the bigger picture and global economy .The same thing is happening with chanterelles cheap imports from europe so not much for canadian markets. It was a good season in some areas Lots of people picked lots of mushrooms and made a living doing what they love despite all you idiots on here that tried to dictate to others and blamed pickers for the low prices called us names and are generally uneducated on global markets and aren't pickers but oppurtunists just out to make a big buck. While the genuine pickers had experiences and memories of a great time we don't need pictures we saw each other in the buyers lineups.Happy trails .
Shogun, keep smokeing goodbud! The rest of us know better!
Show us; I can offer a bit of perspective on the pine prices being less than the days we all miss so much. The price to pickers peaked in 1994 when the Emperor's son got married, the old supply & demand thing occurred as Japanese traditionalists wanted the "Emperors Mushroom" to celebrate with, not just in Japan but Hawaii and any population location with traditional Japanese heritage. I have read that if a male heir is ever born then the prices might peak again, however as more of the younger generation turn from tradition, the demand drops. Then to top it off some savvy people went to countries that have very low income populations and recruited pickers who are happy that they might get a few pennies to buy bread and other food with. Mongolian farmers discovered new wealth as they were taught a new crop to harvest, the list of countries goes on and on and thus the demand for North American product goes up when the crop in places such as Korea, Mongolia, Pakistan, Afghanistan and other world crops finish off for the year or traditional Japanese use more matsutake than is available in the current market environment. ///// A similar thing has occurred for several years in spring as morel prices start out much lower than they did in say, 1995. Pakistan is the one I first heard of that was dumping fresh cheap conica fire morels on the European & US market before the North American natural crop had even started and this year they dumped dried product. Each year the starting price for naturals is trashed by the pickers and the blame-game finger-pointing starts all over again. I am sure that others know much more than I do about this but perhaps they keep it to themselves just as hundred pound pine pickers do their photographs.
Maybe some area's are better than other's, but the fact remains the same, this has been a bumper crop year for Oregon. I realize that parts of Canada barely went off, Tearrace being one of them. Joe Chung was a no show in Randle, Wa. this year, he got all he needed in Chemult (Cresent Lake) this year for $2.00 a lb. Washington went off at the same time as Canada and Oregon so we all got screwed! IT IS WHAT IT IS!!! AND THATS THE WAY IT IS!!!
I agree with you, show us, on a year like this one in the heart of the flush you would have a hard time picking fifty pounds of buttons all day!
All you peeps out there that say you pick over 100lbs of shrooms - especially 50+ lbs of buttons (especially in a few hours!) - post a pic. The only person that backs his words with a pic is Randy on this board.
I posted early this summer about a solar flare we had and the research I had done on bumpper crop years in relation to such events. Well I'm thinking now there is something to solar flares and bumpper crops! Its a strange year here in southwestern washington, the weather is perfect for pines, we normaly pick until the ground freezes in december but they stopped growing now with perfect conditions! Very Strange!
its finished where I am but I was picking 50 to 75 lbs a day of button 100 to 150 lbs total and thats in a few hours. not the best season but not bad. I would have been happy at 15 of course but it would be too easy for anyone green to make $ at 15. this kind of season will discourage some goons who cant pick volume.Ive been at this for 25 years. I hope its as scarce as hell next year so that I am one of the few who can sniff a few out. I can remember those years when it was over 100$ a pound before every squatter in north America was told how and where to pick. and you wonder why the price has dropped over the years? they know the squatters are trapped they name the price . they ruined it for all vet. pickers
Anyone looking for any dried Morels? I have 10-12 pounds of Nice stock left that I want to get rid of. 50% blonds and greys. I have to get up to work up north till spring and will be too busy to sell them. I will deliver to the coast if a buyer down there wants them. Offer me what they are worth and it's a deal. chuckwpearson@yahoo.com
anyone want some nice mushrooms send me a message ..... i can still get a few for the right price... i promise no goat poop .....
Last weekend for buying /picking in Nakusp for anyone that is interested
Well goodbud, i probably picked more buttons today than you picked all month. 7 is not a good price...think about it...50 lbs at 15 or 50 lbs at 7. Do the math if ya can. The joes want cheap shrooms so you can sell yours to them, i refuse to.
is there still buyers in powell river?looking pretty sad out there are the mushroom getting too mushy?
Greetings my fellow mushroom pickers. Almost a lost art isn't it? I myself have only picked morels. We did not have matak...s where I'm from eastern oregon. Boletes shaggy maines a few others we ate em'. This web is a good one. Wish the price was better for the picters but.. what can we do? Any suggestions? I have talked with a few of you out in the field. Names I don't remember so well. Well good luck hope to see a few of you out there. God willing and the river don't rise..... C.J
50 pounds at $15.00. is much better then 50 pounds at seven a pound!!LOL.
hey button picker if its 7 and I can pick 50 pounds of buttons thats better than picking 3 pounds at 15 . have you ever picked more than 10 pounds ? probably not. I dont just sort through places others have chewed to rat sht . you are like the majority of goats fighting over one patch.most pickers follow other pickers and look on the ground and dont know what timber to look for.keep hunting in packs tell your friends where to look !?!?
anybody buying courtenay area prices ?
LOL!!! Somethings will never change! Welcome back! Now that the pine season is pretty much over, the board should quite in down! I wonder how Alice is doing?
Phantom, it is warm down here south of lost-wages Nevada picking the golden nuggies from under cactus spines... Glad to see that your golden peach channies are still happening for you.
We have had snow and frost and more rain and the yellow's on the east side are doing well. I well be picking tell Christmas. I well post my year's find for 2010 in 2011 as soon as I kind. gab-ble gab-ble.
what's the price (retail & wholesale) for a bundle/ bail of salal, boxwood, cedar ?
Boomer did buy a few shrooms this year although i dont think too many.....
Terrace pickers, was Boomer actually buying mushrooms this year? Or was the station just using his name? Anybody who knows Boomer knows that he usually made big coin picking.
I agree ButtonPicker! My partner has been picking for the last 15-20 years, and basically refused to go out and pick earlier this month because of the price. Of course.... he went out a couple of times.... just because hes totally addicted! :) But we gave those to good friends who loooove them :)
goodbud...Are you on glue??? 7 is never a good price, it shouln`t be under 15
Just wondering if any of the crew that was in Clinton this summer is making thier way to Powell River any time soon :)
eBay will cancel your auctions and eventually your account for selling wild mushrooms other than morels. You may thank some members of a couple of the mushroom clubs for that. Their members lobbied eBay after one of the central coastal California clubs took a noob to pick and he found amanitas and sold them on eBay. FYI - There are people that are opposed to selling wild mushrooms or other wild products. Among these are some professors that teach mycology.
7 is a good price for this year
