Greetings All, Anybody interested in a Matsiman led Matsutake foray early November 2009? Location of foray, Cave Junction area, near Oregon Caves. I am thinking seriously about offering 10 people, at a time, a free Matsutake hunting day led by me. Sorry, ten is all I can handle at once. May conceder more days of ten if interest warrants. I'm just probing to see what interest is out there. I have stopped picking commercially. Will be 59 in July and too banged up to walk these mountains all day packing mushrooms. I think it's time to share my knowledge and experience first hand. Those interested can leave a message here, or email me. Email link on banner at top of every page. Thanks, Matsiman

Update-Cascades. Been so disappointing for all recreational snow activity. Really has had no sig. snowfall since Christmas-NYE (4'), then it all melted in a 12 hr period and rained. We have dirt patches and snow at 2800'. Riding up from that point to 5000' you have the snow. Last year the snow stuck around until May. Curious to see how it ends this year. Would be nice to get it over with and move into an early spring for morel hunting. I wish!

forest harvest,

I am moving this from the mushroom board to this Mad-Hatter board... It was sent to me last August, "Fw: The Deer Hunter"

I found it but it's an Email about a 28-foot, 1-inch alligator that had an 11 foot long buck deer in it's mouth.

The gator was found between Centre and Leesburg , Alabama near a house along the shore of Lake Wiess.

No, my buckets is being filled with rain water at this time. I say spring is coming early this year and summer may just be hot and dry. By the way where is everyone, its like they all join the ground hog and and found a warm place to sleep for six weeks.
